In The Clinic

Within only two 1 hour long appointments  I had been thoroughly checked over, my running monitored and an immeasurable amount of advice, support and encouragement as well as exercises to take home to strengthen the areas of my body needed to support my injured knee. I had a further 3 sessions of sport massage with Cemil who deserves a special mention as he was excellent in giving me all the advice I needed to get through the actual day, stretches to do if I felt the pain start to kick in and the quality of massage was second to none, it really gave me relief. I don’t think I could have completed this marathon if it hadn’t been for the excellent attention and support I received from Physiofit.

I am writing to say a huge thank you to your reception team and to Cemil who treated me. I woke one Saturday morning with severe back pain and rang to see if I could be treated. Although there were no appointments the receptionist did her best to slot me in at the end of the clinic hours and rang me twice to see how I was while she sorted things out. [In the meantime I rang several other clinics who simply said they could do nothing for me until the middle of the following week.] I then saw Cem who was extremely good and relieved the pain. He gave me some simple exercises and then treated me again during the week. All of that meant I was able to go skiing for a week pain free. So I want to say a 'huge thank you'!

Fran

Just to say a huge thank you to Emma, I managed to complete my oc r event without my back injury recurring. She's been brilliant, can't fault this practice and will always recommend to others.

Milly

Thanks, Angie for your ever skilful treatment and person centred approach. If there were Olympic Medals for Physiotherapy, you’d have more golds than Sir Chris Hoy!

Richard

When I came into the Physiofit, I simply assumed it was my hip bone. It was a great relief that Angela reassured that with exercises I could regain my strength and get back to walking and running properly. Over a period of months, I have regained strength and confidence in my body. With a combination of exercise and sports massage with Jenna I am back feeling good.

Godfrey

Jean is doing such wonderful job sorting out my neck and headache problems I wish I had visited the clinic years ago.

Adele

I just wanted to say the therapists were marvellous.

Following surgery to repair a rotator cuff tendon tear Angie and I both worked very hard to achieve full shoulder movement.  It was a long process, but the result is superb.  I have very good shoulder movement now and have resumed swimming front crawl and training in the gym with no pain.  Thank you.

Our family has received an outstanding level of service from the Physiofit team over recent years.  The expertise and care provided by all of the physios from whom we have received treatment, has been of a very high, specialist standard, culminating in tangible results that keep us all moving and (some family members) playing lots of sport.  Thanks Team Physiofit

A friendly, approachable, very supportive team, most concerned after my traumatic experience of a road traffic accident.  A variety of helpful techniques were used to help speed up recovery.

Very efficient, giving full explanations of the nature of the physiotherapy being delivered.  Did not tend to over treat; empathizing with the patient in deciding when to cease a course of treatment.  Giving the patient advice on on-going home exercises and care along with the confidence of making an active decision to return for further treatment if necessary.

Having had shoulder trouble for a number of months I finally, reluctantly booked some physio to see if that could help.  I wish I had booked this much sooner.  Within only a couple of sessions I could feel the benefit of physio, in pinpointing the issue and providing treatment to resolve the pain.  I have returned to playing tennis with no further symptoms.  I truly struggled to believe that physio could be so effective, but it really works.  A huge thanks to Emma for a miraculous recovery.

At Home and Later Life

At Home & Later Life

In early August I had bilateral knee replacement surgery.  I stayed in the Sunrise care home in Hale Barns to recover from the surgery.  During the last month at the home I requested the services of Physiofit.  I had eight one-hour sessions, two a week, with Kelly Wright.  With her support and guidance I made rapid progress.  Kelly helped me to walk around the home and garden using the gutter crutches given to me by the orthopaedic hospital.  She took considerable interest in my case, and, as the bilateral operation is unusual, sought further information and advice from her colleagues.  Towards the end of the sessions she brought in several walking sticks for me to try out, believing me to be ready to move on from the crutches.  At the start of the sessions Kelly gave me a printed plan of exercises and she worked through these with me.  Using stairs was tricky and she helped me to gain confidence in mounting and descending them.

I found Kelly to be perceptive and sensitive and fully involved in and committed to her work. She is personable and very likeable.  I can recommend her to anyone needing similar help.

Lorna M Moran-Jones

Having come out of hospital, I could hardly walk. It was arranged for the home visit team to come to my home. These sessions gave me the confidence to walk unaided, to drive my car, to get my life back to normal. I cannot thank enough Fiona Ridler and Vicky Wilson for their excellent service and for their kind approach.

 Mrs W- Patient

Thanks for sorting out my dad, much appreciated.
Fiona and Kelly we very professional and really helpful and caring.

John Barnes

Dear Fiona, Sorry to advise you that dad passed away this morning. Thank you so much for your help over the last few months. You gave him back his mobility which gave him a much better quality of life during the weeks before he got ill.

Regards X

Hayley is fantastic she has given me back a lot of my strength and helped so much with my chest problems. I can't speak highly enough of the whole team.

Fay Pariser

Dear Kelly

Thank you so much for all your help in assisting mum to get mobile again after her recent fall.

The exercises are a great help to her recovery and she continues to make good progress with her walking….

…We all appreciate the work you have done to help mum at this difficult time.

Once again, many, many thanks for your help.

Kind  Regards Mrs X

I suffered a heart attack on the first of January2016 and spent 2 weeks in Manchester Royal Infirmary and then two weeks in Macclesfield Hospital. This was followed by a stay in a Bupa care home and subsequently moving to the willows nursing home in Mobberley.

Whilst in the Bupa care home I was introduced to Kelly Wright, a Charted Physiotherapist. I was experiencing problems with mobility and breathing (breathlessness). I suffer from COPD. Kelly has put me on a structured course of Physiotherapy and she keeps charts of my progress and the exercises I do (usually seated but some standing up). This covers arms, legs, limbs, breathing and walking with the Rollator. Progress has been slow but I am now back home after completing the rigorous but effective course which has helped in my rehabilitation. I am told you get what you pay for and when it gets you better it’s worth it!!

R Michael Hammond. 10th April 2016

The treatment you provide to my mother in her nursing/senior citizens home has vastly improved her quality of life.  The provision of home visits/care is a valued service.

I am 91 and a retired GP.  With visual impairment I had had various falls.  The pain in my right hip became intense because I was pushing my wife in a wheelchair for many years.

X-ray at the end of 2015 revealed a condition requiring surgery.  In view of my age and three heart conditions, I decided to ring Physiofit and Fiona Ridler called to see me.  After noticing my stoop and my limp she examined my hips, told me that she could help.

She gave me various exercises to do, sent me printed details and visited me at intervals.

I had got to the stage when I was able to walk without my four-wheeled walking aid and was using a walking stick and standing erect.

Sadly, all the improvement was lost when a driver dropped me off in the bottom street in Knutsford without either my wheels or my stick and I had to walk nearly 40 yards unaided on a dreadful footpath.  I had to rest for a month before I rang Fiona, She came a day later, told me off!! But reassured me that she could restore me to the original state of fitness.

The psychological effect of this was enormous and I am sure that she will!

Geoffrey

Fiona first visited our Mother in January 2013 – three months after a severe stroke and two weeks after leaving hospital to live in a nursing home. Mum was completely dependent on full nursing care, she was unable to use her right side, was nil by mouth, confined to a wheelchair and needed to be fully hoisted. Fiona’s twice weekly visits slowly but surely transformed Mum’s quality of life and became a real high point of her week.

The steady, consistent and clear aims Fiona gave Mum provided her with a real sense of achievement with each improvement and most importantly a belief that there was always a goal worth working for. With the continuing progress, Fiona introduced Hayley to offer one session a week with two physiotherapists. It is difficult to express the joy and sense of achievement Mum felt the first time she was able to get to her feet with their support.

The visits strengthened her to the degree she was able to sit well, to reach for things, to re-engage with her hobbies of flower arranging, painting, drawing and to use her electric wheelchair with confidence both in and out of the nursing home.

More than anything Fiona’s sincere empathy, great skill, sense of fun and obvious pleasure in her work has been so incredibly rewarding for Mum during the remaining two years of her life and for us as a family to witness.

Daughter of Mrs Leonard

I was very impressed with the treatment that your staff provide for my wife Elizabeth after she had a bad fall. She had lost her confidence in her ability to walk, even with a frame. Fiona and Kelly overcame her fears and with substantial skill, persuaded her to do both the small muscular exercises and the larger ones.

She has now regained her confidence, developed better muscle control and is able to move around more ably. Thank you.

Professor P. W. Foster

Due to the skills of you and your colleagues I am now able to get out of a chair and walk independently with my frame-Pain free.

Professor Tyrell

I am just writing to express a huge thank you to Fiona Ridler. Last year I was involved in a very serious accident. I moved to Macclesfield in January and was highly recommended Fiona to help aid my recovery. The first time I saw Fiona was the 5th of February 2016 and I have seen her weekly since then. Thanks to Fiona I am now making a great recovery not just physically but I feel mentally more capable and confident. Fiona was supportive and put me at ease from the very beginning. She was able to assess where all of my weakness were and the exercises and task set for me were relevant and appropriate. She is absolutely fantastic and I don’t know how I’d manage without her.

Mrs X –patient

"I just like it!"

"I feel it’s very important to do exercises as you get older and these classes suit our age group perfectly."

"The group is excellent."
